Hard Rock Punta Cana Review

Hi friends!!  Last week I had the pleasure of traveling to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic for my friends’ wedding.  We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel and Resort.  What a beautiful island!! Check out some of my favorite pictures below and my peaks and pits of the trip!

PEAKS:

  • The beautiful scenery!!  That ocean has the most beautiful shades of blue.  The Caribbean Sea is truly one of my favorite things to look at.  My favorite moment of the trip: grabbing a beach chair with my husband, drink in my hand, starring off into the horizon of the ocean.  I could stay there for the rest of my life : )
  • One day we did a boat trip with our friends.  We used the company “On Tour.”  The Hard Rock set everything up for us.  The price was $30 a person and was charged directly to our room.  The boat was docked at a nearby marina.  They took us on the boat, dropped us off at a sandbar, and let us play in the water for 2 hours!!  It was so much fun!  The “bartender” came in the water with us with a huge floating cooler and made us drinks.  Such a great experience in the sun!
  • The Gym— OMG!  First of all, this gym is huge.  Almost as big as my hometown gym.  I am a bit of a gym snob (guilty).  The gym was AWESOME!  All new equipment.  Huge cardio area with about 10 treadmills.  Free weights, boxing/TRX room, fitness studio, spin class, you name it- this gym has it!
  • The rooms were great!  They were so large! Especially the bathrooms.  Really appreciated the space.  It was nice to spread out on vacation.
  • The liveliness of the resort definitely keeps you entertained.  They have everything at this resort.  There is no way someone can be bored here!! Pool DJs, games, dancers, shows, sports, etc.  Lots to do for the whole family.
  • Toro: the Steak House-  Loved this restaurant.  Definitely the best food on the resort, in my opinion.  I had a huge filet.  Cooked to perfection!  We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful ambiance and great food!

Pits:

  • The food was okay.  Not the highest class food out there.  What I was most disappointed in was the fruit at breakfast 😦  I usually don’t eat a lot of fruit because of the sugar content.  But, when I go to a tropical island, I always look forward to the exotic fruit selection.  The watermelon was yucky brown, the tomatoes were not ripe, even the lettuce was sad looking.  Disappointed in this area.
  • If you’re not a wild and crazy person looking for action on their vacation, this is not the place for you.  It was very crowded.  It reminded me of a Vegas resort.  Lots of noise, loud music, and kids.  If you’re looking for a quiet getaway, I would suggest searching elsewhere.
  • The airport’s WiFi was AWFUL!  Be prepared and download a movie on your iPad for entertainment.

Overall we had a wonderful trip!  It was so great seeing our beautiful friends get married on the beach and celebrating the entire weekend!

Where to next?

xoxo
