What’s all the buzz about? (pun intended) I started drinking bulletproof coffee about 1 year ago when I saw an episode of Boundless on Esquire Network. The ultra endurance athletes downed a cup of bulletproof coffee before a 24 hour race. I thought, “What the heck is that?” Immediately, I did some research and quickly became hooked.
Bulletproof coffee originated by Dave Asprey. Asprey pioneered his brew after his trip to Mt. Kailash, Tibet, where he was introduced to a traditional Tibetan tea made with yak butter.
Bulletproof coffee is supposed to be ingested first thing in the morning, on a empty stomach. It is supposed to give your body 6-7 hours of energy until you eat lunch. This recipe allows your body to uphold sustained and prolonged energy. By adding fats to your coffee, the absorption of the caffeine is slowed and it prolongs the effects. This recipe also slows insulin spikes, maintaining your energy levels for hours.
Sounds great right? I was skeptical myself. However, I tried it and I was amazed. I had a heightened sense of awareness. I was laser focused all day. When I drink bulletproof coffee, the truth is, I only need 1 cup a coffee that day. Which is amazing, by the way!! I usually drink 3-4 cups of coffee a day.
If you don’t believe me, I only ask you try it for yourself before you knock it. Chances are you’ll be drinking a cup of bulletproof coffee everyday from here on out 🙂
