Rose’s Luxury: one of the most famous eateries in Washington DC. Notorious for not taking reservations, there is usually a line out the door and around the block. If you’re craving some of the best food in the District, use these tips to indulge in some of the most flavorful food you’ll ever eat.
- Arrive early. Seems easy right? They open their doors at 5pm. Arrive no later than 5:15pm. Don’t wait in the line downstairs. Go straight to the bar upstairs. There is a hostess there that will take your name for “bar seating.” Usually less of a line (it only took 2 hours to get a seat). Bar seating includes the bar upstairs and the hidden “bar seating” downstairs. Tip: during your wait, head to the many bars along 8th street for drinks.
- Order as much as you can 🙂 My highlights:
-
- Lychee Salad
- Grilled cucumber
- Stuffed Gnocci
- Off the menu- Truffle pasta (O M G)
Special: Tomahawk Steak- Japanese Fried Chicken
- Do:
-
- Order a bottle of wine. Vintage wines starting at $50/bottle. Can’t beat it.
- Order a Goose Dirty Martini (if you’re into that sort of thing)
I cannot express how amazing this food and atmosphere is. Take your favorite date or family to this fabulous restaurant.
